The platform team owns and operates the engines that power carmax.com - search, vehicle and store. In addition, we also own several other applications such as customer disclosure services, shared service buses and internal websites to manage reference data.
We are a high-functioning team that churns through a lot of code; we are pioneers at CarMax in a large array of areas - we built the pipelines-as-code in Azure Pipelines that all product teams use, we automated the change request approval process that is widely used at CarMax. We operate at the highest level of resolution for logging, monitoring and alerting and fine tune everything we own make them as relevant as possible. Platform engineers operate at the cutting edge of Carmax technology and our alma mater have gone on to become technical leads and enterprise architects in other teams at Carmax.
